        This was fixing to be an epic April Fools' joke. Nonetheless, we can almost certainly expect this to ACTUALLY happen in the near future.

              The really sad thing: it wouldn't matter if it were true--just like the hundreds of thousands of other Linux forks, worst case: the good bits get main-lined, the rest get side-lined.
              Edit: ...best case: everything is good, and it all gets mainlined.

                  Exactly. Forking is a standard way to do development with git. So even if they had forked it, it would be a non-event. At most, it would tell us they might be wanting to test whether they might want to submit some changes to the kernel.

                    they didn't forked the linux kernel , but they should fork the display server , i'm just tired of waiting for wayland and mir and i'm tired from the x.org shity performances and screen tearing
