This makes me quite sad, because I've seen lots of abandoned (but still useful) projects in google code

I think it bothers me so much because it is such a simple word that every one learned in like 1st grade, yet no one on the internet can hardly seem to spell it correctly. There have even been a couple of times when I am reading some article where the author uses huge complicated words through-out the whole thing, but then misspells that one word. I swear that that is the most misspelled simple word on the internet, by far.
Sorry for my rant. Thanks.
I can't stand incorrect grammar--actual grammar. Though, I wouldn't normally correct anyone for a case like this:
"...no one on the internet can hardly seem..." : "...hardly anyone on the internet seems able to..."
...but I digress.

Not to say that you are, though who isn't? IDGAF what's in webster's dic., it just seems to me like you're over reacting. The 'o' in lose sounds similar to the 'oo' in loose, just shorter. I can see how someone who doesn't understand vowel usage could easily get the two confused, especially if they didn't really pay attention in 1st grade (or grade school in general). It's not like everyone doesn't just ask for the answers to test questions instead of figuring it out themselves--oh, wait...
I even mix them up sometimes, though that is more due to my dyslexia than anything else. I usually catch it after it leaves my head and hits paper.

Happy reading.
In short, GitLab is partially proprietary, and GitHub's back-end is proprietary, like Google Code's was.
