I run Fedora on one box and am not impressed by its tries to be a superior system than BSD.

      • ok dude congratulations

NOW STOP TROLLING, no one here likes bsd so you are only going to elicit hate responses.

Anyways and back to the topic at hand:

As I suspected the CRITICAL ISSUE abou this amazon 'spyware' thing is not the dash thing but that it CAN compromise security by opening stuff for exploit

        what is this ??

No. I mean that with free software, I can easily verify whether it has malware or malfeatures.

It is much, much easier to hide such in proprietary software.

Like Ubuntu does with its Amazon dash? Aye.
          Proprietary, huh?
That's a good example. Because it is open source, any such malfeature will come to light.

Then users are much better equipped to decide whether to use it.

Because there is no closed-source bulletin board system. Technically impossible.
I mean as an user, not as the web admin. You can't see vBulletin's source unless you've paid for it.

(technically, you can have a closed-source forum - CGI still exists)

So you know all the source code of all the software you use? You have checked every line?
            No?

So what makes you think there is no malfeature? Just because no one told you yet?

This is going on a tangent here. Do you agree that I'm much more likely to know of a malfeature in an open source app than in a closed source app?

              • No. You are more likely to be able to know such.

Why do you insist on trolling this forums when everybody here uses linux and doesn't care about you or your fail os?

                  • This is not a Linux forum. Go troll in a Linux forum of your choice where indeed everybody uses your fail BSD clone.
