  • Installing a linux in a windows fs.

    was there not a installer for windows for ubuntu back in the days and it allowed you to dual boot you linux via the windows loader and the actual linux was just stored in a squashfs on a ntfs partition without resizeing any partitions in windows did this project die i cant find it on google anymore

    ok it was called wubi and doesnt work anymore

    Since ntfs3 is a thing, you can install a Linux distro now directly to NTFS. No real need for wubi anymore. The requirement only is that you turn off fastboot from windows. So you dont end up on a read-only ntfs while booting into linux.
