  • Adjusting test parameters

    Hello everyone,

I am running for the first time Phoronix and I use the m-queens test. While running it I saw that it is executing a process for each available core and it successfully reaches 100%.

My question is if there is a possibility to manipulate these parameters? For example instead of using all 4 cores to use only 2. Another example would be, instead of pushing them to 100% to push until 50%?

    Thank you in advance

It may be possible to override using the NUM_CPU_CORES= environment variable but aside from that there isn't any other way aside from limiting the core/thread count by the OS itself.

Thank you for the quick answer! If I may, I have a follow up question. Are there any tests for single-core testing? I found the Single-Threaded test suite but I am not sure if it is the 100% right test suite that I need. Could you please provide me with your oppinion?

encode-flac encode-mp3 encode-opus (audio encoding tests tend to be single threaded) rnnoise deepspeech and many others. The single threaded suite is likely not entirely up to date.
