Why do you keep repeating your bullshit all the time? Your only and original 'prove' is flawed. SAP benchmarks aren't comparable, so what you were trying to prove again? Yes, Linux scales better than solaris and you can't prove otherwise. Thanks. Ps. how many solaris installation are present in SAP? SAP is dominated by Linux and Windows. Bye troll.

Ps. trolls like kebbabert and aht0 are probably not aware Linux's SMP/NUMA/RCU have roots in 1980 when Sequent Computer Systems pioneered most of the SMP related technology and were providing high-end Unix platforms. It was acquired by IBM in 1999 and worked on Linux's SMP, NUMA, RCU and so on. Saying Linux' SMP is young is nothing, but blatant LIE. However, what to expect from someone like kebbabert who's full of shit?

Could it simply be that Apple wants Linux kernel devs who can help port drivers to their OS? Perhaps they're struggling to support a wider variety of hardware?

Their OS would need something like FreeBSD's shim to work with Linux drivers at all.

Also I don't really believe that Apple is struggling to support a wide variety of hardware. Where is this wide variety? Why would they want to support a wide variety? They sell their own hardware and EOL stuff older than 2 years, they don't need to support a wide variety of hw.

AFAIK it is illegal to install Apple's software on other than Apple's hardware. Hackintosh etc. Apple has no interest or need for supporting wider variety of hardware. What they need, they get done in-house using documentation provided by hardware vendors.

Apple has more money than it has use for (check Apple's cash reserves, not investments, cash that does not earn any interests - immense amount lying around) so hiring people for writing their drivers is an absolute non-issue.

Yeah it is a breach of the EULA.
The Apple OS is not "gratis", it's a hidden cost of buying Apple hardware.
