PRIME Synchronization Is Still Being Worked On To Fix Tearing

Maybe this works too, but Nvidia Optimus users do not need a DRI_PRIME override, everything is rendered on Nvidia, output can be Intel or Radeon (you can reuse your old cards for more outputs). I tested these dual GPU configs, you do not need to use Intel hardware (and no laptop) to try it. You could even use a card with TV out and use Nvidia for rendering.Last edited by Kano; 01 November 2015, 08:03 AM.

Is PRIME supported under Wayland? If so, how can Wayland ensuare a "perfect frame" with PRIME not supporting v-sync?

Also interesting to see that this work is done by an NVIDIA employee. I only saw them investing in mobile related things, not in fixing desktop bugs.

Well, with a quick test with glxgears I can say: No, it does not work with dri3 offloading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1zTqjmisKk (At least in the bugtracker people said this happens because of the same lack of synchronization)

i think it only use v sync with wayland, with X the tearing is horrible (talking about august experience)
