Confirming: Apple will not be updating OpenGL on macOS past version 4.1
Using Ventura on my M1 MacBook Air. Noticed that OpenGL is *still* Version 4.1. Really would like to use my M1 for Minecraft and also some OpenGL Steam games well into the future, but it seems that they have their methods, and will be sticking to them.
I opened an issue in the Feedback Assistant and their response outlines that the status quo shall remain.
Sharing this here for any interested.
(Honestly -- my biggest frustration is freaking Minecraft. Really wish Apple would update their OpenGL drivers ++ enhance for performance so that the darned game will SOAR on these gadgets)
