AMD Catalyst 9.10 Linux Driver Released

Catalyst 9.10 also contains a major advancement too, which will be exposed in the near future.

Is this the compatibility with the 2.6.31 kernel? :-) Seriously, does it work with this kernel?

So apparently, mplayer doesn't crash when using UVD any more.
How, may I ask, can mplayer be configured to use UVD?

Can somebody please report on 2D and OpenGL version? Currently i?m using the beta driver shipped with the stream sdk.

AMD Control Center shows 2D driverversion 8.67.4 and OpenGL Version 2.1.9115. So what are the numbers for the official 9.10 driver?

Check if it installed correctly, and that the correct module version is loaded.

i just installed it, everything seems to work at a first glance, but the watermark still is being displayed on my radeon5770...

Make sure to rm -r /etc/ati before installing the driver.

Works fine on Gentoo AMD64 after renaming "ati-drivers-9.9-r2.ebuild" to "ati-drivers-9.10.ebuild" and commenting out line 238 (the one that applies "2.6.31-fglrx_find_task_by_vpid.patch").
