    That's a good question. If you only had one windows driver and one Linux driver I'd say no, don't. Since you have at least 2 Linux drivers and 1 windows driver I'd say probably yes.

    This would also allow you to easily support other platforms from the same codebase, e.g. macos X or even BSDs which are "similar enough". With a smaller driver team I'd guess this'd be a win-win in the long run.

    Also if the whole thing goes GPLv2 it might even be mainlined? Not sure how abstraction layers would be handled there tho.
