Over at Planet 3dnow forums, AMD's BIOS and Kernel Developer's Guide (BKDG) for AMD Family 15h Models 60h-6Fh Processors was spotted and revealed some interesting information:
Carrizo will come in two packages, FM2r2 (Socket FM2+) and FP4 (BGA for notebooks)
FM2r2 supports only non-ECC DDR3 up to 2133 MHz (DIMM) or 1866 MHz (SODIMM)
FP4 supports ECC and non-ECC DDR3 and DDR4 up to 2400 MHz (DIMM) or 2133 MHz (SODIMM)
GDDR5 support which was mentioned in the Kaveri docs seems no longer present.
USB 3.0 only, no 3.1
SATA Gen3 (6 Gbps), no SATA Express, at least not natively
New instruction sets supported are AVX2, MOVBE, SMEP and BMI2.
