Despite mainly selling ARM SoCs these days, Mediatek still sell MIPS e.g. the MT7621 (dual core 880MHz MIPS1004Kc) which is still used in new(ish) production designs, like the 802.11ax (wifi 6) Asus access point next to me. There are 12 different models of MT7621 based 802.11ax wifi routers or access points supported by the latest version of OpenWRT. There seem to be a total of 782 (!) models of MIPS based devices supported by the latest version of OpenWRT.
