So at least in this benchmark the 7700X is the sweetspot, when looking at price per perf and energy consumption per perf..

Actually, it's the 7950X3D . At least that has the best price to power usage ratio. The 7700X is the 2nd worst even on sale.
CPU Current $$$ Average Power Ratio
      7600X $238 90.05 2.64
      7700 $314 73.16 4.29
      7700X $325 100.25 3.24
      7800X3D $369 65.66 5.61
      7900 $410 76.33 5.37
      7900X $439 100.25 4.37
      7900X3D $495 79.91 6.19
      7950X $578 146.31 3.95
      7950X3D $654 94.49 6.92

I didn't care for the x3d when it was released. I really don't trust linux scheduler support for these heterogeneous cpus. and performance per watt really doesn't matter for home machines where 99% of the time the computer is idle or off. But I'm still rocking a Xeon Sandy Bridge as my main cpu.

Take a lot at eco mode for 7950x

Solid work as ever - there is lots of numbers & graphs in those results on 'openbenchmarking' & since we are scrolling, also horizontally - I wonder if phoronix would consider changing fonts to make it more "ready" for better/easier read.
