Either way ( excessive demand or problems at TSMC) this is actually good news. At least in this little niche of the economy we are not seeing a slowdown.

Is it related to TSMC being overbooked? Buying Ryzen 9 3900X is almost impossible (always out of stock everywhere). So looks like 3950X will face the same problem.

TSMC has announced a threefold increase in its delivery lead times for 7 nm orders, from two months to nearly six months, which means that orders will now have to wait three times longer to be fulfilled than they once did. This means that current channel supplies and orders made after the decision from TSMC will take longer to materialize in actual silicon, which may lead to availability slumps should demand increase or maintain.Last edited by shmerl; 20 September 2019, 01:41 PM.
