Phoronix: Supermicro Hyper SuperServer SYS-221H-TNR / X13DEM Working Well For Dual Socket Xeon Max

With the Intel Xeon Max testing at Phoronix that's been ongoing so far for the past month on Phoronix has all been done within the Supermicro Hyper SuperServer SYS-221H-TNR rackmount server. This 2U dual socket platform for 4th Gen Xeon Scalable "Sapphire Rapids" processors has been working out well and provides a robust feature set while working out well for all of my Linux testing thus far.

I know I would be interested in some BSD benchmarks on this high end of gear. I read from the FreeBSD foundation that AMD Genoa is working well with that OS but didn't hear anything about the lattest Intel.

Unfortunately I haven't heard much from FreeBSD + Intel ever since Ben Widawsky stopped working on FreeBSD code at Intel and then subsequently left Intel ( https://www.phoronix.com/news/Ben-Widawsky-Leaves-Intel ). SPR presumably will work as normally latest Xeons end up working fine on FreeBSD but am curious myself. DragonFlyBSD tends to be hit or miss.

Count me in for interest in FreeBSD runs.

Also curious about idle power consumption in Linux and FreeBSD.
