well i am not from the US. here in germany you have „Erste Staatsexamen“ "zweiten Staatsprüfung" "dritte verlieh den Assessorentitel"
means your first law degree is never any high degree.
about your in the usa any law degree is a doctor degree well we have this bullshit with medical doctors in germany to any medical doctor degree is a doctor degree but everyone knows that this is not the same as a STEM doctor degree.
fields who any final degree is a doctor degree it automatically devalue the doctor title in this field.

in the STEM field in germany you make your professional training then you make your bachelor then you make your master degree and then you write your doctor thesis. this takes 2-3 years for the proffesional training another 3years for the bachelor another 2 years for the master and well another 4-6 years for the doctor thesis.
