  • Doing benchmarking on mounted disks other than the disk that Phoronix is installed on

    Hi,

I am interested in running benchmarking and stress testing off of a live USB, but whenever i run the disk benchmarking software it defaults to checking the USB drive.

How can I configure the software to point to a disk of choice?

Is this test specific, or can I configure within phoronix itself?

Modify the test install directly EnvironmentDirectory at ~/.phoronix-test-suite/user-config.xml (or /etc/phoronix-test-suite.xml if root) to your desired mount point.

Thanks Michael…got it to run on my Zorin laptop.

But running on TAILS, i keep getting a “The test installation directory is not writable”, and when I run with sudo…it keeps trying to connect to the internet, instead of fetching the install file from the download-cache.

i shut down the internet and networking access in the user_config.xml file, but the same thing happens.
