It's very hard to believe that someone comes here and says that linux problem is the different look and feel of the apps. Has this user EVER used windows? Let's take a moment to think about themost used apps on windows:
Winamp? iTunes? Chrome? Avast (or any other crappy anti-virus)? CCleaner?
On Windows 7 even the Office had different look from other programs from M$!
Oh...not to mention Metro apps vs. Desktop apps, the most stupid OS UI design decision of all time.
It's a problem for Linux? I don't think so.
(and come here to talk about OLE, when Linux has DBus for years?)
Fonts are maybe a problem, but most users cannot point the difference.

Also : hinting and antialiasing suck so much on non-retina displays anyway, bitmap fonts are the only way for me to prevent eye-bleed after five minutes. I don't even get how can somebody actually read some text on a Mac (and I have one at work).

So please explain why this difference is not a problem on Windows, since all mentioned apps have a lot of happy users.
And as opensource projexts and apps, Qt, GTK apps exists on windows too, QT apps exists on windows TOO.
And they DO look different on windows TOO.
