  • Nvidia Optimus via Nvidia Prime Not Recognizing Second Monitor

I have the MSI GS70 laptop and I have Ubuntu 13.10 installed with the nvidia-prime backport installed (version 0.5 of nvidia-prime and 331.38 Nvidia proprietary driver) and when I connect a monitor via HDMI, nothing happens. The monitor isn't supported and no activity takes place. Running xrandr doesn't recognize the display as plugged in, but when I run xrandr --listproviders, it does show both Intel and Nvidia cards with one being a source output and the other being a sink output. Is there a way to configure a second monitor?
