      Maybe if Intel would stop duplicating everything Gallium3D already does.

        It's not entirely separate from mesa; in that it can utilise a new EGL extension to allow interoperation, this requires building beignet against the mesa sources. In fact, I've hacked together a mesa Gentoo ebuild which builds beignet along with mesa when enabled via opencl/beignet use flags.
