If he actually cared about something other than his precious ad money he'd actually do research on his articles and do git-bisects when he finds regressions in the graphics drivers

So, are you going to help to fund him doing it? You complain about ads and self-links, on a site which you get to use for free. But do you realize how hard it is to make money from advertising on a site aimed at Linux-users, when a large part of them have adblockers installed? Linux sites go under all the time because it's comparatively harder to come up with ad revenue.

ofcourse not E18 but E17.4 i think currently... E18 is not yet stable but can be pulled from git or installed from AUR in arch for instance.
And works really nice in either version.

Good news with E18! In some spare time I try the AUR version.
