Can anyone tell me if you can manually configure WiFi/ip network in distros other than Debian-based without pulling your hair out? I am used to configuring manually in Debian-based distros and have some familiarity with the /etc/network/interfaces file but the last time I tried to configure my wireless in Fedora, I was totally lost.
I want to try out other distros such as Fedora 8 and Mandriva 2008 and I hope that it is not super hard. I don't like the built-in wireless programs in these although some in Debian-based distros seem to be getting better. I just want the option to configure manually. How does one do so in RPM or Red Hat-based distros? What do you edit?
