I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this.
I recently picked up an ASUS 8600gt 256mb, the fanless version (EN8600GT SILENT). After installation I noticed in the nvidia utility it displays 512MB. I checked the labels on the box as well as the card, both list the card as the 256MB version.
Does anyone know of a utility that can probe the card to find out the correct amount of video ram?
Here is the card information present in the nvidia utility:
ubuntu 7.10 w/ nvidia 169.09
INTEL DQ35JO
INTEL E8400
0CZ 8GB DDR2-800
ASUS 8600GT 256MB
SAMSUNG 305T
2X WD740GD RAID 0
1X WD5000AAKS
1X PIONEER DVR-212D
M-AUDIO AUDIOPHILE 2496
OCZ GAMEXSTREAM 700W
