Intel Mesa To Force On S3TC, Floating-Point Textures
Forget what I said. The patches actually do what they say they do. I mis-remembered what the configure option does. Too much time in kernel land; my mesa is getting rusty... You still need the external lib for online compression however.
Yes, but in theory an external lib is a whole lot easier to come by in most distro's distribution systems (gentoo aside). Now mesa only needs to define a dependency to said external lib, and the user gets the features automatically.
