  • Custom Modeline is suppoted by fglrx driver?

I'm trying for let fglrx driver accepts custom modeline below:

    ModeLine "720x576" 15.1 720 778 834 968 576 579 607 625 +hsync +vsync interlace composite

This modeline accepted by opensource radeon driver, but not fglrx driver. I'm checking Xorg.0.log file, but there is no information about this modeline. Informations are only about standart modes.

Is this a known issu about fglrx driver? I need AVIVO and TexturedVideo due to accelerated video in my VDR PVR system requirements.

The acceptable fglrx options can be addressed through aticonfig (see --help for more information). If you are using a Radeon X1000 series graphics card you shouldn't need to setup TexturedVideo in your xorg.conf, but otherwise you will need to append that option for X-Video. Also, if you are using x86_64 software, Avivo currently has some serious issues that causes segmentation faults.

is there anybody that using custom modeline with custom sync values with fglrx driver? Is this possible? This is my question.

If it isn't possible, i don't want to spend more time with ati in linux.

It looks like it might be a bug right now with fglrx.

I have the same problem with a radeon 9600 pro.
I can't enable composite sync with fglrx.
So I use radeon free driver but I can't enable DRI with it, don't know why.
