  • ATI Performance Linux vs Windows

    Hi,

I'm looking for a new laptop that I intend to use for gaming. I've been trying to find some benchmarks of how the latest catalyst drivers for linux compare to their windows counterparts. I understand I'll probably take some sort of a hit running Linux ATI drivers, but I'd be curious to know just how much.

    Thanks!

Performance hit? Its the same driver on wondoze and linux, performance is very similar.

The hit you take with the blob driver is a FEATURE hit, since the open source AMD drivers actually support linux features (like KMS for example) rather than just shoehorning a wondoze driver into linux.
