Catalyst 10.9 has been a great release for me (2d acceleration fixed and speed improvements), though there are the 2 glitches that are still bugging me:
The garbled text has been present since 10.6, the 10.5 release was fine. The artifact appears when I switch zone/map travel a few times, and the GUI text is back to nomal if I fire up and close the fullscreen map.
The bright squares are where footprints are supposed to be displayed. They display correctly if the "UseGLSL" regkey is set to on, so something's probably funky with ARB shaders here. Note that footsteps were rendered correctly in Wine 1.1.37 (which I used prior to upgrading openSUSE). GLSL gives a host of other headaches so not really an option.
All in all, annoyances rather that deal-breakers, though I was wondering if anyone had similar issues, and possibly hints.
Misc info:
openSUSE 11.3 64bit with stock Wine 1.2
Radeon HD4670
Registry keys I've tried:
DirectDrawRenderer - gdi/opengl - no change
RenderTargetLockMode - disabled/readdraw/readtex - no change
StrictDrawOrdering - disabled/enabled - no change
OffscreenRenderingMode - backbuffer/fbo - no change
UseGLSL - enabled solves the footprints issue but incurs other texture-related problems
