  • Penny Arcade's OTRSPOD as been discontinued :(

Just stumbled across this while looking for Deathspank-news (which unfortunately hasn't been confirmed to come for Linux yet... but it's also not confirmed for Windows or Mac neither, so I guess there's still some hope): http://www.hotheadgames.com/blog/?p=130
Might be that I'm the only one who cares, but I enjoyed The first two episodes of "On the Rainslick Precicipe of Darkness", and was still looking forward to the third one.

Yeah, not at all surprising, but sad nonetheless, I also really enjoyed the games.

The future for Deathspank seems cloudy too, given that Hothead sold out to EA:

No kidding. I think the 1/3 the sales came from the price points they were selling them at and the concern that we'd end up seeing what we've now found out- no more episodes. (I'd have bought them on the spot- they're funny and I didn't mind the slightly higher price point for the title... But, I was leery when 2 came out for the risk of 3 failing to come through- especially with them getting DeathSpank going like they did.

Didn't sell out- they got a publishing deal with them. "Sold out" implies that they're no longer an indie studio- which is not the case. Having said this, it remains to be seen what the nature of the publishing deal might be. As an upshot, the events of this week means that there might be enough of a money story for EA to allow it to be published on the Windows or MacOS SKUs as an unofficial title or allow them to publish via other venues.

Correct. They signed an "EA Partners" deal. EA will fund them, and gets exclusive publishing rights for the length of the agreement, but Hothead remains an independent and continues to own their original IP.

Right, the publishing seems to only cover Xbox and Playstation, guess I was to harsh. Comment withdrawn.
