    That is just how your imagination perceive things.

    Both Windows and OS X have way superior display servers than X.Org.
    X.Org is one big stack of hacks on top of other hacks to get a semi-modern desktop built-around the legacy X11 protocol and all of its limitations and deficits.

    All the widget toolkits for X are built upon the legacy xlib (not the more modern asynchronous XCB library), so operations are synchronous and the X11 protocol causes lots of overhead.

    Windows and OS X animations are very smooth and their colors are just as crisp as the ones of X.Org Server.
    The Windows and OS X display servers are superior to X.Org, so its nice to see Wayland now bring a modern display server to Linux.

      Whatever your opinion on lag, X11 cannot and will not have any impact whatsoever on whether your colors are "crisp".
