Will try all possibilities in sound config in client, server and Steam tonight.
your welcome, actually I meant your OS logfiles for sound, but checking the steam logs sounds like a good plan to. I don't thing you need to change anything on your steam-server, just focus on the steam client. I'm 99% sure that the problem is there.

Just thought of something. Did you check if you have any sound on the client computer? If so is sound also working in the steam client? Like is sound playing when starting big picture mode? Or navigating in big pic mode?

Yes I have sound working on both the client computer and host.

On server side the sound works everywhere 100%.
On the client side the sound works for all apps (multimedia etc.) AND in Steam Big pic mode.
When I run a game, I had no sound from it...

        BUT

just found the solution : switching from 1080p to 720p solved the issue... I think it took too many bandwidth will try with a GB lan

Hope this can help others !

@Passso: Yes, lack of bandwidth will make sound drop altogether. I've had that happen to me when running a 1080p game over WiFi (I know, I know).

Don't feel too bad; sound worked just fine for me over wifi at 1080p...had to turn up the volume first, though--my steam host was so loud I couldn't hear it on my laptop. lol

              hw encoding really on?

              hello,

how can i be sure hw encoding is being used with my 750ti graphics? somehow i have a feeling that with fps never exceeding 30 even on almost static pages, it isn't. this is what i got in the logs:
              HTML Code:
Capture method set to Desktop OpenGL NV12 + libx264 main (1 threads)
does this mean that all the work is done by cpu? tx. jose

Is there any way to grab the stream data for recording?
