And you are actually sitting there comparing to XGI and S3 as an example of adequacy!!!!
Any form of true "gaming" is out of the realm of integrated and will ever be due to physical design constraints that cannot really change.
They share RAM with the system, and the bandwith iGPU-RAM sucks balls vs dedicated cards and their dedicated GDDR, sure you can add EDRAM on the side of the chip if you have $$$ to throw away, but it will still get raped by any dedicated GPU (and probably DDR4 APUs from AMD).
Dedicated cards also have their own thermal envelope and power budget, which again allows even cheep cards to blow away anything integrated when talking of gaming.
why nobody buys their products instead.
VIA, SiS, XGI, and crappy integrated AMD and NVIDIA chipsets are not found anymore.
AMD isn't out of iGPU businness of course because APUs, but the ones that everyone wanted to see die in pain were VIA, SiS and XGI, mostly.
