First up are some disk / file-system tests between Linux Mint 17 and Linux Mint 13...

The EXT4 file-system is used by default on all tested versions of Linux Mint. The EXT4 performance on Linux Mint 16 near universally dropped compared to Linux Mint 15 in the many disk tests used, but at least with Linux Mint 17 this regression appears to be recovered.

CompileBench shows a few scenarios where Linux Mint 17 is faster than Linux Mint 16 but still not as fast as the older releases.

With PostMark for this tested hardware configuration the Linux Mint 17 performance was in its lowest state of all releases tested.
