The Assembly-written asmFish chess engine benchmark that is heavily threaded ran the best on the Ryzen 7 CPUs with their 16 threads.

Though on a performance-per-Watt basis in this test, the Core i7 8086K and Ryzen 7 2700 were competing for the best efficiency.

With the TTSIOD 3D Renderer running on the CPU, the i7-8086K running at 5.0GHz was in line with the Ryzen 7 2700X.

In the single-threaded Zstandard compression benchmark, the Core i7 8086K performance was well ahead of the Ryzen processors.

While in the 7-Zip compression test that is multi-threaded, Ryzen becomes more competitive but the i7-8700K/8086K still come in line with the Ryzen 7 2700X or the overclocked i7-8086K comes in at 12% faster.

The Core i7 8086K does lead the bunch in the performance-per-Watt.
