hey all,
I installed the fglrx driver, using the graphical installer, pressing next next.. (not too hard :P)
I then issued this aticonfig command
aticonfig --initial=dual-head --screen-layout=above
aticonfig --dtop=horizontal --overlay-on=1
to get my dual monitors working. a new /etc/X11/xorg.conf gets written and it is all happy. I reboot, (i have a problem where i get a blank screen on Ctrl+alt+f1-f6), and it reboots happily and fglrinfo shows :
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.5.1)
Not so tasty. The graphical raden utility thing shows that i have the 8.42 driver installed. Anyone got any ideas?
This is probs real obvious to all ati users, but i've only ever used nvidia and at work i dont have a choice.
