Current support for a GTX 285

I was about to newegg a GTX 285 today but decided to check nvidia's driver page first; no drivers come up for a 285. Is official support required for a card to work, or do I need to wait for them to release at least a beta that lists support first?

In most cases it works even when the driver string does not report the correct card with a slightly too old driver.

Alright, I'll give it a shot then. What's the worst that can happen, besides having a $370 paperweight sitting on my desk for awhile.
