It's been just a few days since the release of Orkdal Beta 1, but there hasn't been any spotted fallout from this most recent development release. However, this second beta for the forthcoming release of Phoronix Test Suite 1.4 adds in a new option (result-info) for viewing basic information about a saved results file, improved motherboard detection (yet again), a few file/folder name changes, a handful of new functions, additional dumps/files being generated when saving system details, and fixing download links for two test profiles. A few other tweaks are also present in Phoronix Test Suite 1.4 Beta 2.
Phoronix Test Suite 1.4 seems to be in remarkably good shape right now considering the invasive changes from Cascading Test Profiles (CTP) and Self-Contained Test Profiles (SCTP) support along with Mac OS X support and all of the other changes that have come about in the past two months. The original plan was to push out this Q4'08 release out in early December, but considering where it's at today, it may be released a few weeks early. The beta releases have already been used in Phoronix articles and I am aware of no outstanding regressions / bugs present in Phoronix Test Suite 1.4 at this time. It looks like IBM is still working on their LDTP scripts, so it doesn't look like that will make the merge target for 1.4.
If you could all check out the Phoronix Test Suite 1.4 Beta 2 release or the git code and test it thoroughly, that would be much appreciated. If you spot any warnings/errors, system-info not properly reporting installed software or hardware, or any other problems, please report them as soon as possible. If nothing major pops up, Phoronix Test Suite 1.4.0 "Orkdal" could make it out as soon as next week.
Thanks!
