im running two different os (ubuntu 10.10), 1 is 32, the other is 64-bit, both with 8GB RAM (both OS on different hard drives)
the 32 shows 8063 MB RAM, 64 shows 7993 MB
why is that?
When running not as root on Linux, the only way the Phoronix Test Suite can determine your RAM capacity is simply to see what's available, which is a slightly lower amount than your total physical RAM capacity (8GB in your case) and can be different between 32 and 64 bit kernel.
