Phoronix Test Suite 5.6 Adds New Phoromatic Enterprise Benchmarking Features

Phoronix Test Suite 5.6 was released today as the quarterly update to Phoronix Media's open-source, cross-platform benchmarking and automated testing software.

24 March 2015 -- Phoronix Media has announced the immediate release of Phoronix Test Suite 5.6 (codenamed "Dedilovo"). Continuing in the theme set by earlier Phoronix Test Suite 5.x releases, the 5.6 update continues adding new functionality to the new Phoromatic implementation built into this leading open-source benchmarking stack.

Phoronix Test Suite 5.6 ships with the latest Phoromatic client and server code that's open-source under the same terms as the Phoronix Test Suite client, the GNU GPLv2. The Phoromatic Server built into Phoronix Test Suite 5.6 allows the Phoronix Test Suite clients to function without an Internet connection or communication link to OpenBenchmarking.org, supports remotely powering on/off client test systems, zero-conf networking for the seamless finding of Phoromatic Servers, and numerous other enterprise-oriented features for establishing automated test farms. The Phoromatic Server can be deployed within organizations behind-the-firewall using the open-source code built into the Phoronix Test Suite. Custom engineering services and support agreements are available by contacting Phoronix Media for both the Phoronix Test Suite and Phoromatic.

Some of the new Phoromatic features found in Phoronix Test Suite 5.6 includes a universal search bar for finding results/test/suites/systems in a quick and easy manner, one-time benchmark ticket functionality via the new benchmark page, the ability to assemble local test suites via the web UI, support for commenting/annotating result files and graphs, new rootadmin options, UI enhancements, and new system stress/burn-in features.

Phoronix Test Suite 5.6 also has support improvements for Mac OS X, a new stress-run sub-command for system torture/stability tests, new hardware/software detection improvements, and other minor refinements. Phoronix Test Suite 5.8 is now under development for a release in Q2'2015.

This latest release of Phoronix Test Suite for carrying out automated, open-source, and reproducible benchmarks can be downloaded at Phoronix-Test-Suite.com. The open-source code to the Phoronix Test Suite is hosted on GitHub with independent code contributions and reports being welcomed. Enterprise support, project sponsorship, custom engineering, and other commercial services are offered by contacting github.com/phoronix-test-suite/phoronix-test-suite.
