Bay Trail is the codename for Intel's Atom SoCs that introduce in-house HD Graphics rather than relying upon Imagination's PowerVR for its graphics core in the low-power SoCs. Thus Bay Trail is the first Intel Atom SoC with great Linux support via the mainline Intel Linux graphics driver and the code remains completely open-source. Bay Trail was formerly known via the Valley View codename that was first reported on Phoronix.
