Steam On Linux Continues Climbing Past 1,300 Games

With new games seeming to come over to Linux every day courtesy of Steam -- such as this week's Star Wars port -- we're now well past 1,300 games available for SteamOS/Linux.

With all the recent Linux gaming news, I was checking out the Steam store this morning and delighted to see as of writing this article there were 1,323 games available for Linux/SteamOS and not counting Valve's other Linux software, DLCs, etc.

It was in early June when Steam crossed 1,200 Linux games, in April when passing 1,100 Steam Linux games, and just in March of this year when there were one thousand games on Steam for Linux.

The monthly statistics out of Valve continue to report there's less than 1% gamers using Linux on Steam, down from a high of nearly 2% back when Steam on Linux first premiered. However, there's still much hope and ambitions around SteamOS and Steam Machines for later in the year.

What's been your favorite game on Steam for Linux to date? My personal favorites would be Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Metro 2033 / Last Light Redux, but then again, in the past few years I haven't had time for really playing gaming and so am more into advanced visuals, the quality of the ports, and benchmark-friendly modes as what gets me personally excited.
