Overall, from these quick mostly computational-focused benchmarks, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS did very well. Partially responsible for the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS wins is that many of these tests are source-based and 12.04 LTS by default is running with the newest GCC release of the four distributions tested. For those interested in comparing these benchmark results to other distributions, replicating these results, or comparing hardware configurations, it is a simple matter of running phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1207181-SU-AMAZONEC223 with the Phoronix Test Suite.
