With the 256MB LZMA compression test, the Ubuntu 9.10 performance had regressed more noticeably with the SSD found on the Dell Mini 9 than it did with the Samsung NC10. The LZMA regression on Ubuntu 9.10 was barely noticeable with the NC10 and its faster OCZ solid-state drive.

The 512MB write performance improved quite a bit under the Karmic Koala. With the Mini 9 its speed went from 18MB/s to 28MB/s while with the NC10 it went from 59MB/s to 85MB/s.

The 512MB read performance had dropped slightly under Ubuntu 9.10 with both netbooks.
