The retail Intel Core i3 530 processor ships with a standard LGA-1156 heatsink fan that is very similar to the stock heatsinks on other Intel Core CPUs. This cooling solution should work just fine for the 73W TDP Clarkdale, but there are already plenty of after-market LGA-1156 heatsinks available.

The Intel Core i3 530 is clocked at 2.93GHz while the Core i3 540 is very similar to the i3 530 but is clocked at 3.06GHz and just costs a few extra dollars. Both of these processors lack Turbo Boost. The Clarkdale Core i5 processors currently range in speed from 3.20GHz to 3.46GHz or 3.76GHz with its maximum Turbo Boost stepping. Our processor was labeled Intel i3-530, Intel Core i3, SLBLR MALAY, 2.93GHz/4M/09A, L939B675. The Core i3 530 must be installed in an Intel motherboard that uses either the H55 or H57 Chipsets, but other LGA-1156 motherboards are not compatible.
