CentOS 5.4 provided the best performance in the Threaded I/O Tester with the random write performance when using 16 threads of 256MB files. The latency with CentOS 5.4 was 5 microseconds compared to 5.66 microseconds with OpenSuSE 11.2 RC1 and far in last was Ubuntu 9.10 with a time of 11.83 microseconds.

CentOS continued to offer the lowest Threaded I/O Tester latency when it came to the random read performance, while the times between OpenSuSE 11.2 and Ubuntu 9.10 were close.

CentOS 5.4 continued with its leads into the C-Ray ray-tracing test profile where it took 157 seconds to render the test scene in comparison to 167~168 seconds with OpenSuSE and Ubuntu.
