Starting with x264, we have our first look at the AMD Fusion E-350 Linux performance. The Fusion E-350 pulls ahead of the Intel Atom 330 nettop and AMD Sempron 3400+ at H.264 video encoding, but obviously, the Fusion APU is no match for the Core i3 or Phenom II X3 hardware with these more powerful CPUs being multiple times faster.

When continuing the theme of video encode testing, with FFmpeg 0.6.1, the Fusion E-350 setup is much faster than the Atom 330. The Fusion E-350 was roughly half the speed of the Core i3 and Phenom II X3 710 systems. Interestingly though is that the single-core Sempron 3400+ was faster with its FFmpeg encoding than the dual-core E350.

Switching over to audio encoding, with the popular LAME MP3 encoder, the Fusion E-350 was about twice as fast as the Atom 330. When the E-350 was running at 1.8GHz its performance was nearly matched to the AMD Sempron 3400+.
