    The nVidia hybrid copy acceleration feature alone is enough to look forward to Gnome 47, although I personally look forward to the day when the concept of hybrid graphics is buried for good.

                    It certainly ramps up the overall complexity for the user. But things have definitely improved over time. E.g. an all AMD iGPU + dGPU. Most things run on the iGPU by default and the dGPU is power gated very well. Vulkan games automatically use the dGPU.
