Pidgin 2.8 Program Officially Released
Pidgin, the popular open-source instant messaging program formerly known as GAIM, has just reached version 2.8. The main web-site has not yet been updated to reflect Pidgin 2.8, but this is an exciting release with a number of new features.
Pidgin 2.8.0 has implemented basic support for silence suppression on voice calls, code clean-ups to Pidgin itself, support for the new connection states in NetworkManager 0.9, XMPP fixes, and much more.
The change-log for Pidgin 2.8.0 and previous releases can be found from the development page. Download links and more information can be found from the mailing list announcement.
