The 2011 Desktop Summit Is Announced For Berlin
Back in 2009 there was the Desktop Summit that placed GUADEC and Akademy, the annual development conferences for the GNOME and KDE desktops, respectively, in the same location at the same time. While there was not a 2010 Desktop Summit for more open collaboration between these two major free software projects, there will be a 2011 Desktop Summit and it's taking place in Berlin.
At KDENews.org is the announcement that KDE e.V. and the GNOME Foundation will be co-hosting the Desktop Summit next year that is set to take place in the always-wonderful city of Berlin, Germany. Desktop Summit 2011 is to take place during August, but details beyond that and it's taking place somewhere within Berlin (perhaps at the Messe with there being 1,000+ developers expected) are not known at this time. Details though will eventually be announced at DesktopSummit.org.
With the 2011 Desktop Summit taking place in one of our favorite cities, there may be live Phoronix coverage of this joint KDE and GNOME event.
