KDE SC 4.4.2 Released w/ Fixes
The software compilation of KDE 4.4 was released in early February and it will be the latest and greatest version of the KDE Desktop until KDE 4.5 is released in about four more months. While KDE SC 4.4 brought a lot to the table, there's still some bugs and other items continued to be squashed on a monthly basis via new point releases. The second point release for KDE SC 4.4 that brings maintenance updates is now available.
KDE Software Compilation 4.4.2 fixes some possible crashes with Plasma / Dolphin / Okular, the Microblog applet now shows the correct time, and the audio player KRunner plugin should no longer freeze the KRunner UI.
Additional details on the KDE SC 4.4.2 release can be found in the KDE.org press release. KDE SC 4.4.3 should be out at the end of April. Meanwhile, the GNOME desktop developers are preparing for their release of GNOME 2.30 to take place tomorrow.
