Yours truly will be departing this week for Europe, so for the next two weeks our Linux news may be slightly slower than normal (read: just not within-a-few-minutes-of-an-announcement speed), but there are already a number of interesting articles in the publishing queue during this time.

Coming up this week is a brief look at Alien Arena 2009, a review of the System76 Bonobo Professional notebook (as featured in the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M review), and a review of the ASRock M3A780GXH/128M motherboard that is compatible with the AMD Phenom II CPUs on Linux.

Next week there will be benchmarks to show off EXT4 vs. Btrfs vs. NILFS2. Also thrown into this Linux file-system comparison are EXT3 and XFS results. Due to being short on time, these results will just come from a Serial ATA 2.0 hard drive running Ubuntu and the Phoronix Test Suite, but coming soon will be numbers when using a solid state drive.

Besides that there is also an interview with Frank Earl (a.k.a. "Svartalf"), who ports games to Linux for Linux Game Publishing. In this review we also talk about his recent work in the Phoronix Forums that has led to at least one new game coming to Linux. We also discuss Linux gaming in general and other pressing matters.

Also on the plate are reviews of the Razer Salmosa mouse and the Lian Li PCA05N chassis. Possibly coming out in the next two weeks would also be a preview of PTS Linux Live and our very extensive AMD Linux Q&A.

There might also be an informal Phoronix event at a local beer garden in Munich, Germany next week, but that is still being planned.
